Gilbert Public Schools was awarded the 2025 Best Communities for Music Education in the nation by the NAMM Foundation for the 6th consecutive year, recognizing and celebrating the outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who have made music education a part of a well-rounded education.
DRHS is proud to celebrate our 529 graduating seniors. 250 students are college/university-bound and 13 are enlisting in the military. 145 have a QPA of 4.0 or higher and 6 are Student Council officers.
Earlier this year, five GPS schools placed in the top five at the Winter Guard Arizona State Championship. For some schools, like Desert Ridge High, their continued success may be a result of collaborating with junior high schools.
Gilbert Public Schools honored employees across its 39 schools and departments to show appreciation for the positive difference GPS staff make every day for our students, families, and each other.

May 6th was the 3rd annual GPS Film Fest. 51 student videos were submitted and viewed, with participants from all 5 of GPS’s comprehensive high schools, and almost 2 hours worth of video content.
Desert Ridge High's Head Athletic Trainer, Ian Jeffer, was recognized with the fifth annual Henry Schein Medical Athletics and Schools Rising Star Award for his sports medicine club management, creative teaching methods, and dedication to students.
Many GPS elementary schools are giving the graduating class of 2025 a chance to relive their fond childhood memories by inviting them back to the campuses where their learning journeys began, giving seniors a chance to reminisce while inspiring 6th graders as they look toward the future.
