Welcome!

Students in Art & Design I can expect to work in a variety of two dimensional art materials. They will learn the basic Elements and Principles of Art and use them in their own compositions. The daily experience of drawing in a sketchbook, while responding to a specific prompt, will help develop creativity and technical drawing skills.

Art & Design II students should have already taken the introductory course. In this class, students will explore either drawing or painting materials and techniques in a more in-depth study.

Cartooning I & II students will not only learn about the history of cartooning, but will be able to use their own creativity and style in a multitude of projects.

About Me

In my fifth year of teaching, this is my first year as a DRHS Jaguar. I am excited to be teaching here. I have experience in teaching a variety of art media to wide age ranges. I attended ASU's Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts,  as well as Mary Lou Fulton Teacher's College, where I have earned two bachelor's degrees. I have taught Art and English in public schools. In addition, I have conducted art workshops in independent settings. I look forward to working with our students to further their artistic endeavors this year.
