Our Jaguar Logo

DRHS once had a logo that was nicknamed the Jag "Rat". This is the story that helped to change the rat to the current logo we now have.

In November 2006 a story was run on the morning annoucements about what could be done with the Jaguar "Rat". It had been the schools logo since the school opened but it seemed that most of the student population did not like it and wanted something new. Suggestions were asked about what could be done with it and that set off a series of events that would lead DRHS to get a new logo.

Upon seeing the story run on the announcements the digital photo students were asked to try and tackle this problem. Students worked for weeks on this assignment looking for the best Jaguar logo. Sports team from all over the country that had a Jaguar logo were found and scrutinized. The colors on them did not match our own colors and many changes were made to them. Students created new Jaguars and incorporated the crismon red and black into them as well. Many different options were created and were then presented to the student body.

All of the options were shown on the announcemcnts and the students were asked to vote on the one they wanted. Votes were counted and the winner was selected. Though one had been selected there was a slight problem with it. It belonged to the NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars. Administration sent out a letter asking for permission to use the logo and changes that had been made to it. We received a letter back from them allowing the school to use the logo and at last the DRHS Jaguar was born.
